Gather ye rosebuds while ye may...

After a good rain the next day is always amazing, an endless blue bird sky with big fluffy clouds consistently follows the drab, cold wetness.
With one more outfit to shoot for the Loris Shoes Lookbook it ended up being the perfect morning. There was a chill in the air, all the surfers were in full wetsuits many even with hoods on. Camilla the trooper as usual would every now and then put her icy hands to my face and say "it's freezing!"
The title of the post seemed fitting as we both love the the poem by Robert Herrick and with that said, we seized the day!
We can't wait to share everything with you but right now we both are looking forward to a quiet weekend.

Quality you can Taste

Hello to all our wonderful readers! Sorry we have been MIA from the blogging scene lately, we have been so busy! Right now we are shooting a lookbook for the company Lori's Shoes and it has literally eaten up all of our extra time in which we would normally spend responding to your lovely comments. This is just a small preview from one of our four shoots we are doing for the lookbook!
We are still in the process of shooting but once they are finished we will be sure to share the final results with all of you.
Hope You enjoyed the Sneak Peak- there's much more to come, so stay posted!
And sorry again for the lag on responses to your comments, we really appreciate it and will be getting back to you soon.
Have a fantastic Weekend!
XX Valerie and Camilla

Byron Lars... A Name You Should Know

 We love Byron Lars!
He's not only a genius, he's our friend.
If you haven't heard of him before you should get to know him, because today in WWD an article titled "Making Encores" coined him as one of four designers in the making.
I met Byron at the Fashion Institute in NYC many years ago. I was walking through FIT with my boyfriend/husband and wearing an Azzadine Alaia skirt that he was just staring at because of the way it moved. Long story, but we became friends.

Byron has been around a while, he started designing under his own label in 1991, a small collection of sportswear he referred to as "Twisted American Classics" Then after only two seasons WWD hailed him as "Rookie of the Year"
These photos are from his Spring 2011 collection.
I am in love with the little white and black lace dresses as well as his brillant take on the classic shirt dress.
His construction is impeccable, the designs incredible and both Camilla and I own one of his amazing pieces.
He has even dressed Michelle Obama.
Byron and a sketch of the dress Michelle wore to the White House tribute concert for Paul McCartney.
Mrs. Obama once again in Byron Lars.

Congratulations Byron!
You Rock!
