Spring Awakening

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these images of Lily Donaldson! I find them completely inspiring. They were shot by Carter Smith for Vogue UK in 2005, but they are so fresh and still so new I find it hard to believe they are 5 years old. Although, that's what the source  Fashion Gone Rouge  says.  They make me want to wear pretty florals and I want those sunglasses!

Let the Sun Shine In

"Open up your heart and let the sun shine in"
Pebbles Flintstone:)
"Something in the way she moves"
George Harrison

This past Sunday I went to the Long Beach Flea Market and found some great pieces. I bought this cute little top for Camilla as well as fabulous dress for myself. I need to take it in a bit but it is very Halston inspired and the fabric is like butter. Camilla already shined in her new top with high waisted hot pants and our Jeffrey Campbell boots. Yeah, I guess we are both feeling a seventies thing right now. I sometimes think I grew up into the wrong decade.

ch ch ch ch ch Cherry BOMB!

"Can't stay at home, can't stay at school
Old folks say, ya poor little fool
Down the street I'm the girl next door
I'm the fox you've been waiting for."

Take me back to the Seventies!
Although we are not huge fans of Kristen Stewart, we have never read a Twilight book nor seen the the movie.  I have to say there is a slight intrigue about the upcoming movie "The Runaways."  I think mainly because I love the Seventies. The fashion even though at times could be a bit tacky there was still goodness. I mean come on we had Halston,  Studio 54, Glam rock, Punk rock, Farrah Fawcett and Hot pants with Platform shoes.
If you love the fashion and want the look we found some fabulous pieces to rock this spring a la "Runaway."

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! We hopefully will get back to some photo shoots this  Saturday or Sunday, it has defiantly been a while.

"Really, really, really ridiculously good-looking"

It's been forever since our last post but we took a little hiatus from blogging because of spring fever and the need to clean out our house our studio and redecorate it. I don't know about you, but spring gets me in a mood to spring clean and get rid of all the clutter. I always have to go through my closet and get rid of all the things that have been sitting there unworn or unused. Also Tax season makes me go through the files and clean out those too. With all this cleaning and redecorating we have been up to our elbows in STUFF! Then along came a little post on my facebook page from my friend Robin at SELF about beauty and "Make Up to Makeover your Mood". She is the beauty editor at Self Magazine and has lots of great ideas to share. Lately, I have been into wearing berry lips by using  M.A.C.'s Mahogany lip pencil and then filling them in. Camilla has been into really, really red lips using M.A.C.s Russian Red with a soft face. Here is some of our make up favorites from the fall shows that are ripe and ready for wear now.
At Givenchy amazing glittery red lips with the rest of your face soft
At Chanel dark eyes but soft lips
At Prada don't over pluck your eyebrows
At Miu Miu Dramatic eyes in bright colors
At Dior Orange eyes and soft berry lips while at Proenza Schouler dark berry lips and soft face
More pretty red lips, with a soft face and easy hairstyle, effortless beauty.
Also on Robins blog she introduced me to another great blog that has now become a favorite of ours it's by Makeup artist Fiona Stiles "My Life in Paints Powders and Pigments"
Fiona is a makeup artist to the stars and has pictures with tips on how to apply the makeup on her blog. It's a must read for any girl.

So Thanks Robin for bringing us back out of the clutter and onto blogging once again. Now off to the beach, it's 80 and sunny in California today. Now you know why we have the fever:)

The Many Faces of Alice

"I wonder if I've been changed in the night? Let me think. Was I the same when I got up this morning? I almost think I can remember feeling a little different. But if I'm not the same, the next question is 'Who in the world am I?' Ah. That's the great puzzle!"
Alice in Wonderland
Lewis Carroll

"Curiouser and curiouser"

"There's no use in trying," Alice said: "one can't believe impossible things."
"I daresay you haven't had much practice," said the Queen. "When I was your age, I always did it for half-an-hour a day. Why, sometimes I believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast."
Through the Looking Glass
Lewis Carroll

"But I don't want to go among mad people," Alice remarked
"Oh, you can't help that," said the cat: "we're all mad here. I'm mad. Your Mad."

"If I had a world of my own everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?"
As you all know Alice in Wonderland came out today, and we can't wait to see it. Actually we are going tonight! Because we love Tim Burton and Johnny Depp, Yesterday we did a little shoot at home inspired by Alice. Camilla wore a little floral skirt we got at Target but cut way shorter, the gingham bra top I designed and made inspired by a bathing suit from the 50's. The knee hi's are from American Apparel and the heels by Jeffery Campbell from LF boutque. The little blazer is a vintage boys school jacket.

Hope you all have a Wonderful weekend
