Baby, you'd dig it the most!

Vincent: You know what they call a...a...a Quarter Pounder with cheese in Paris?

Jules: They don't call it a Quarter Pounder with cheese?
Vincent: No man, they got the metric system. They wouldn't know what the *&%#  a Quarter Pounder is.
Jules: Then what do they call it?
Vincent: They call it a Royale with Cheese.
Jules: A Royale with cheese. What do they call a Big Mac?
Vincent: Well, a Big Mac's a Big Mac, but they call it Le Big - Mac.
Jules: Le Big-Mac. Ha ha ha ha. What do they call a Whopper?
Vincent: I dunno I didn't go into Burger King.
PULP FICTION
In N Out is iconic in California so much so that they have their own lingo such as,
"I'll have a double double animal style."
or my personal fave
"Grilled cheese with grilled onions"
You can't come to California and not try "In N Out" even if you are not a meat eater, because the fries are awesome and you can always order the "grilled cheese" which is just a burger without the pattie but with all the yummy fixin's.
Nope, it's not on the menu, actually none of the lingo is you have to be an insider or merely a Californian.

Camilla and I chose this spot as a location for one of our Loris Lookbook shoots because of the Californian culture it exudes and the fact it is a only "west coast" burger joint.

It is also good old Americana, served up Cali style and whats better than that for a spring featured style book.

West Coast

"For a second there I thought you disappeared
It rains a lot this time of year"
"And we both go together if one falls down
I talk out loud like you're still around"
"And I miss you
I'm goin back home to the west coast
I wish you woulda put yourself in my suitcase"

This is more from our lookbook shoot for Loris Shoes.
Inspired by the natural surroundings of our own beautiful beach we grabbed some vintage surfboards we have hanging around the house and headed down.
It was the morning after a huge rainstorm that had been plummeting down on us for days. And after a good storm the next morning is always divine.
All we needed was a vintage Volkswagen Bus and everything would have been perfect.
Camilla is wearing a maxi dress from Loris shoes.
Popped over the maxi is a Crochet hooded top from Free People.
And belted it with a beaded belt from Anthropologie
Wrapped around Camilla's head is a scarf from Loris Shoes
The platforms are the Jeffery Campbell San Diego from Loris.
Believe it or not but these platforms are very comfortable and easy to walk in.
It was a beautiful morning with not many people on the beach, mostly surfers. And although you can't tell by the amazing blue sky and sun it was damn cold.
Well, at least by Southern California standards it was.

Lately we have been ending a lot of our posts with a video. So why stop now?
Here's an oldie but a goodie
And the best version of this song to a video I've found also, it was shot by a film student.

Little Things

Here's a few pieces our favorite jewelry.
The top necklace is from Free People given to me from Camilla and a huge favorite right now. We are also loving our rings, all kinds of big chunky ones.
Actually, when it comes to our jewelry we feel the more the merrier.

All Jewelry is from Free People, Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters and J Crew.

A Winters Tale

With the Holidays upon us everyone is planning, shopping and partying. Going to Holiday parties means you get to dress up in your finest, maybe buy something new and hopefully turn a few heads when you walk into the room.
Inspired by the Sultry, Glamorous looks of old Hollywood's leading ladies from the 1930's like Garbo, Lombard and Dietrich off we went into the woods to shoot.
All eyes are on you as you make your entrance. Your hair in effortless tousled curls, lips red as a rose, skin white as snow, a fur coat loosely draped around your shoulders to keep you warm from the brisk winter-y air. Your dress is a shinning gem - one of a kind and looks as if you hand picked it from Carole Lombard's closet. Strutting up to the first guy you see, you flip your hair, and in a cool, low voice say
"Hello Handsome."
Just another night on the town...
"Glamour is what I sell, it's my stock in trade"
Marlene Dietrich
"Don't Kiss and talk about it - men don't."
Carole Lombard
"I am not afraid of nothing except being bored."
Greta Garbo
We styled the shoot with a long lace dress from Free People, underneath we put a gold sequin slip for more glitter. Topped it off with a vintage fake fur cape then added lots of rings and necklaces. We curled Camilla's hair into long waves and of course applied deep red lipstick. For shoes, (although you don't see them) we used Jeffrey Campbell's black tick booties, that brought the look back to a current feel.
The ending of "A Winters Tale" at sunset in the woods felt like an Enchanted Fairytale.

We were featured on Lori's Shoes go check it out!
They put up a blog post and also have Camilla featured on their web sites banner.  Lori's also has an amazing selection of shoes, bags and accessories and right now a lot of our favorite shoes are already on sale!
