Calypso Style

Ever notice how French women appear to look so Effortless in their Style? That is what you get with Calypso-Celle. Started in 1992 by Christiane Celle with her philosophy that "Things should be beautiful" She has grown her company into a luxury lifestyle brand with stores in Paris, throughout the States, St Tropez and St Barth. The Calypso line is truly beautiful and timeless with a rich color palette, and a bohemian twist. We discovered  the store years ago while in N.Y. visiting friends and quickly became passionate followers.

Yes, We did it Ourselves

Just for the record we love Free People. The clothes are wonderful and I am sure you have already noticed throughout our Blog that we own quite a few pieces. But, they just put up online these really cute vintage cowboy boots with the top cut off to make them new and priced them at 358.00.

That is just too expensive for vintage boots and cut up, so we decided to make them ourselves. All we did is go to the flea market and scour the area for cowboy boots with snake skin we found a pair that fit pretty good. Then came home and cut off the top!  No, they are not the perfect fit and yes they are a little different but I think it's pretty good likeness for 15 bucks! Don't you?

Shine On

It's been a pretty busy week, but it's finally the weekend and now i can relax. This is a great look for any Friday night to hit the town with your girlfriends like I am tonight. Take the opportunity to mix casual and dressy instead of throwing on the same old pair of jeans.

A Vignette of LONDON

This is a little late but we both have been crazy busy this week. London fashion week ended and the shows are now going on in Milan but hopefully you will be inspired by a few of our London favorites. Christopher Kane was lovely with pastels and Gingham mixed with shear. The thigh high slits in the skirts were sexy but wearable for both young and older woman without looking trashy.

The designer Luella always makes me smile. Her line this season is so cute and vintage inspired. To me that means start hitting the vintage stores and look for little dresses from the 50's and 60's. Then just lop off the bottom to a more current length add a heel, belt or both then throw your hair in a pony and VOILA! You have your own vintage inspired Luella.

Burberry Prorsum

Last but not the least, this is by far my favorite. Not much to say I think it speaks for itself. And being California girls we and you can start this little look of cute slouch anklets with platform sandals. LOVE IT!

Lovin my Gossip girl!

Inspired by Jenny

We love this little doll of a dress. We added a little J Crew pearl button cardigan and belted it with a patent J Crew belt. The brown boots seemed just right to make the dress easy for day and more casual

Of course you can see just how cute this design is with the little puff sleeves, it could easily be paired with a great Ballet or heel to make it more dressy.

The cute little shape makes it flirty and fun and oh so versatile.

Inspired by Blair

We took the little ribbon belt and wrapped it in the hair then added a very sweet and pretty sash from J Crew around the waist

The cute booties are charcoal Grey and from Italy sold at Anthropologie

Hooray for Anna Sui!

Yes, We Love Gossip Girl and Ann Sui.
This Tweed dress is inspired by Serena

Notice the cool sequin trim around the neck. It is cut very low so we added a bandeau top from American Apparel. We wanted to style it like Serena might wear it so we added these Charles David shoes. Although for a day look we thought we'd wear some great boots.

Well in case you haven't heard Fab and Fun designer Anna Sui just did a line for Target. The great thing about Target getting designers to do a line for them is, it's affordable and still the designers aesthetic. Anna designed her line for Target based on the hip show Gossip Girl, and as you all know, the girls from the show always look so cute and stylish. It's only for a limited time, basically till it's all sold out. So go check out the line and see what you can find, we did and found some pretty sweet dresses inspired by Serena, Blair, and Jenny.

A Lovely Little Dress

Yes this is Azzedine Alaia again!

Can't help It, we just Love Him!

As Cher from the movie Clueless would say,
" Oh, no. You don't understand this is an Alaia. It's like a totally important designer." Enjoy!

Coffee, Tea and Me.

The number we were given was 24 and yes, that's our lucky number, it was going to be a good day.

My little yellow dress is Marc by Marc Jacobs. Maggie wore a Marc by Marc Jacobs top and a Corey Lynn Calter skirt.

My shoes are by Frye and socks from Anthropologie. Maggie wore shoes by Jeffrey Campbell.

A Great way to end the week!

There is this sweet little Cafe that opened a while ago in our home town called, The Yellow Vase. We absolutely love it and since it is Sunday we dressed up in our Sunday best and met our friend Maggie for bunch and dined on delicious crumpets and coco. Yum!

FASHION WEEK BEGINS

FASHION WEEK

Charlotte Ronson

Cynthia Steffe

Fashion week started yesterday in NYC for Spring 2010. Since Cami and I can't be there we have been checking out the fashions on line. The Spring 2010 line up started Thursday morning with
BCBG by Max Azria. He is always good for cute little dresses and that's what we got, plenty of them! Then today was Cynthia Steffe and Charlotte Ronson which again had some lovely little dresses but also shorts. Here are some of our picks from their lines. Enjoy! We will try
to update you throughout the next week as more designers show their collections. But, if you really want to see all the collections go check out style.com. Have fun.
